When you have small children, does owning your own business make it more difficult to have a family life?

I have been told my my in-laws and parents that owning your own business is a 24/7 job and we won’t be able to spend as much time with out kids. My husband and I are trying to get into the childcare business.

Owning your own business is a very consuming activity. It is possible to set aside time to raise your kids, but it is very hard when you have a business that will fail without 100% of your efforts. You might wait a few years until your kids reach school age before starting your own business.

Nope just keep the kids with you. Hubby & I own a pet store and our son is with us all the time. We are still together as a family.
